'Parishioners join the school community to celebrate Masses, assemblies and other celebrations and take part in school life in a variety of ways.'
Our Parish Priest, Canon Tom, Fr.Sebastian and Deacon Jon Harman are fully supportive of our school. Members of the clergy visit the school at different times of the year and can sometimes be seen on the playground. Fr.Sebastian is responsible for training our Altar Servers who serve at weekday lunchtime Masses.
We are fortunate that one of our Parishioners plays the piano at all of our school Masses. We are very well supported by the Chair of the Parish Liturgy group in planning all Masses.
The children visit the church many times during the year-sometimes to celebrate Mass and sometimes to learn about Baptism, for example, or to learn about the Stations of the Cross during Holy Week. Many children choose to participate in Adoration on a Friday after school.
Several of our families attend the 2 other churches linked to St.Richard’s, St.Peter’s in The Witterings and Our Lady, Bosham.Children in Year 3 are encouraged to participate in the First Holy Communion programme which is led by a strong team of catechists in the Parish.
The school also has a strong link with our second feeder Parish, St.Wilfrid’s in Selsey although fewer families now travel from Selsey.
