We understand that this will be a difficult time for you and your children and please know that we are here to support you and hope to make sure this time of home learning as smooth as possible. If you need help or guidance please do let us know either via Tapestry or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
We will set all home learning through Tapestry, please look out for memos with guidance for work, we will include videos, website links and ideas for activities. We will also put some activities here on the school website in case there are issues with accessing Tapestry.
We would love it if you could send us photographs or observations on Tapestry of your child enjoying the home-learning.
Every week we will send home a range of activities it is not an expectation that you will do all of these activities. It is important that you go with your child's interest and enthusiasm, remember that a lot of the way we learn in school is through play so we are trying to make the activities as fun and engaging as possible.
We will spread out the days we send the activities via Tapestry:
Monday - Maths and Topic (these are linked to all areas of learning)
Tuesday - Phonics
Wednesday - RE
We would suggest that you aim to do one phonics , one maths and another topic based activity every day. We appreciate that this may not always be possible and please do not feel under pressure to stick to this, there may be days when you do more and days when you do nothing at all. Remember to make time for getting outside for fresh air and exercise and ensure there is lots of time for playing and having fun too!
Every day at 3pm we will post a video of one of the reception team reading a story. This, we hope, will be a lovely way to mark the end of the school day and will help them to still feel part of school knowing all of their friends are watching the story at the same time.
Each Friday at 9:15 you are invited to join Mr Field, via Microsoft Teams, for a whole school assembly. If you are having issues logging onto Teams please let the school office know and they will be able to help.
Many thanks for all that you are doing for your children during these times. We know how very hard it is juggling everything, please know that you are not alone and we will help in any way that we can. We are really missing being in school with your children and are very much looking forward to the time when we can be together again.
Stay safe and God Bless,
From the reception team
