Lunch Menus at St Richard's

At St Richard’s Catholic Primary School, we are proud to work in partnership with FEED West Sussex (Feeding Excellence Every Day), provided by ISS, to offer nutritious, balanced and enjoyable school meals that support children’s health, wellbeing and learning. Menus are developed using high-quality, seasonal ingredients and provide a wide variety of choices throughout the year. 

We believe that lunchtime is an important part of the school day and aim to create a positive dining experience where children can enjoy healthy food in a welcoming environment. 

Ordering School Meals

All school meals are ordered through the FEED App, which makes it easy for parents and carers to:

• View school menus in advance.
• Pre-order meals at a time convenient to you.
• Save favourite meal choices.
• View allergen and dietary information.
• Manage your child's meal selections and dietary requirements.
• Access menu information in multiple languages. 

Parents and carers will receive details about how to register for the FEED App when their child joins the school.

Free School Meals

Universal Infant Free School Meals

All children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are entitled to a free school meal every day under the Government's Universal Infant Free School Meals scheme. 

Free School Meals for Older Pupils

Children in Year 3 and above may also be entitled to Free School Meals if their family meets the eligibility criteria. 

Even if your child is already receiving Universal Infant Free School Meals, we strongly encourage eligible families to apply. Registering can provide additional funding for the school through the Pupil Premium, helping us to provide further support and opportunities for pupils.

Special Diets and Allergies

FEED West Sussex can support children with medically diagnosed dietary requirements, including:

• Food allergies
• Food intolerances
• Coeliac disease
• Other medical dietary needs

Parents and carers should register any dietary requirements through the FEED App so that appropriate meal options can be identified. In some cases, bespoke menu options may be provided.

Packed Lunches

Children are welcome to bring a healthy packed lunch from home. We ask families to support our healthy eating ethos by providing a balanced lunch that does not include sweets, chocolate bars, fizzy drinks or nuts.

As we have children with severe allergies, all food brought into school must be nut-free.
