Our Curriculum Intent at St Richard's
At St Richard’s Catholic Primary School, our curriculum is rooted in our Catholic faith and Gospel values, reflecting our mission to ensure that every child is known, valued and loved as a unique child of God. We are ambitious for all pupils and have designed a broad, balanced and knowledge-rich curriculum that equips children with the knowledge, skills and character they need to flourish academically, spiritually and personally.
Our curriculum is carefully sequenced to build knowledge over time, enabling pupils to make strong progress and achieve highly across all subjects. We provide rich and engaging learning experiences that inspire curiosity, develop resilience and foster a lifelong love of learning. Through high expectations and inclusive practice, we ensure that every child, regardless of background, starting point or need, is supported and challenged to reach their full potential.
We celebrate and reflect the diversity of our school, local community and wider world. Our curriculum promotes respect, compassion and social responsibility, helping pupils to become active citizens who understand their role in creating a more just and caring society.
Beyond academic success, we are committed to developing the whole child. Through a wide range of enrichment opportunities, leadership experiences, educational visits, sporting activities and faith-based experiences, we nurture confident, independent and resilient young people who are well prepared for the next stage of education and life in modern Britain.
Through our curriculum, we aim to develop pupils who know more, remember more and can do more, enabling them to live life to the full and make a positive contribution to their communities and the wider world.
