Forest School

Forest Schools at St Richard's

 

These weekly sessions aim to encourage and inspire children through positive outdoor experiences. Teamwork skills will be developed through collaborative games and challenges. Individual skills and self-esteem will be ‘grown’ through learning woodcraft, discovering about the natural world and creating environmental art.

 

Sessions will take place in all weathers except for very high winds and storms. It is essential that your child has appropriate clothes for these activities. Children will need all of the following which we can then adapt according to conditions on the day.

  • Long trousers
  • A Fleece or sweatshirt
  • A waterproof coat
  • A hat
  • Wellington boots or sturdy outdoor shoes
  • Gloves

 

Children are to come to school in sensible home clothes, suitable for the outdoors. Please ensure they have lots of warm layers

The sessions will be led by Mr. Orchard who is a Level 3 Forest School Instructor.
