This half term, we will be entering the magical world of potions and spell-making in our Spanish lessons!
The children will learn the names of a selection of magical potion ingredients, such as la rana (frog), la araña (spider), la flor (flower), la hoja (leaf) and la seta (mushroom). They will also learn to use simple Spanish to say what they have and to give instructions for making a potion.
We will practise the words tengo (I have), añade (add) and mezcla (mix), as well as using numbers to say how many ingredients are needed.
Through games, speaking activities and repetition, the children will develop their listening, speaking, pronunciation and sentence-building skills.
At the end of the topic, the children will create their own "Mi poción mágica" (My Magic Potion) and use their Spanish to describe their ingredients and give simple instructions for making their potion.
Throughout the term, I will also be sharing some photos and videos of our Spanish learning, so please keep checking for updates and see what magical Spanish adventures we get up to!
