Climate Action Plan

At St Richard's, we are committed to preparing our children not only for today, but for the future they will inherit. Our School Climate Plan sets out how we will reduce our environmental impact, make sustainable choices, and empower our pupils to become responsible global citizens.

Why is a Climate Plan needed?
Climate change and environmental challenges are among the most important issues facing the world today. Schools have a vital role to play in helping young people understand these challenges and take positive action. By developing a clear plan, we ensure that our whole school community is working together to make meaningful, lasting change.

What is our Climate Plan for?
Our Climate Plan provides a roadmap for how we will:

  • Reduce our school’s carbon footprint and environmental impact
  • Improve sustainability across our buildings, grounds, and daily practices
  • Embed environmental education into our curriculum
  • Encourage children to take responsibility and become active participants in protecting the planet
  • Work in partnership with families and the wider community to promote positive change

This plan is not just about practical actions—it is about creating a culture of care, responsibility, and respect for our environment. We want our pupils to feel inspired and empowered, knowing that their actions can make a difference.

Together, we are building a greener, more sustainable future for our school and beyond.
